I’m very excited to announce that I am starting an English Speaking Club. This club is for students of all levels and ages and it’s all online. The number one thing that students tell me is that they don’t have a chance to practice speaking. Well here is your chance! Let’s talk!
- Practice speaking English
- Have your speaking corrected
- Learn vocabulary, phrasal verbs, collocations, and idioms
- Discussion topics (casual and academic)
- Learn sentence structure
- Learn and practice native phrasing
- English speaking exam questions answered
- meetings are held 5 days a week
- The club starts September 7th
All for $20 a month.
What Will We Do In English Speaking Club?
We will talk, of course. The meetings will be moderated by me, or another native English speaker. We will talk about many different topics. We’ll stay away from politics and religion, but everything else is fair game. We’ll talk about current events, culture, travel, adventure, family, and more. We’ll debate and share ideas. Our conversations will be both, academic and casual. This is your chance to get to talk with a native speaker and other English learners.
Grammar mistakes will be corrected. We will also review vocabulary, phrasal, verbs, or collocations in every single meeting. Since it’s your meeting, you can also suggest topics too. Many of you want to learn English for work, we’ll have business conversations. Others of you want to test your skills for travel. This English Speaking Club will cover that too. I know a lot of you are taking or are curious about English speaking exams like the IELTS or TOFEL, we’ll cover some of those questions as well.
When Will English Speaking Club Meet?
We’ll meet at all different times, that way you’re able to attend at least one meeting a week, hopefully more. We’ll start with 5 meetings a week. This will include meetings during the week, and usually at least one weekend meeting. Some English Speaking Club meetings will be in the morning, others will be at night, and some will be during the day. That way everyone has an opportunity to attend. The times for all of the classes will be given in the weekly newsletter, so that you can plan which ones you want to attend. At the moment there’s not a limit on how many meetings you can attend, go to as many as you want.
What’s In The English Speaking Club Newsletter
The dates and times of the meeting will be there, along with the topics that will be discussed during that week. You’ll have time to prepare, but you don’t have to. The newsletter will also include vocabulary words, phrasal verbs, collocations, and idioms. I encourage you to use these words during our meeting, but you don’t have to. TED Talks that I find interesting will be listed too, along with any articles that I think you may enjoy. Some of them may pertain to our discussion topics, but not all of them will. It’s up to you how much you want to prepare, and what you want to save for later. The newsletter will also include some tips and observations that I notice during our meetings, that way everyone can continue to improve.
Do You Have To Prepare For English Speaking Club?
No, you don’t have to prepare. I know you’re busy and you won’t always have time, however if you can prepare or review a little bit then feel free to do it. That said, if you don’t have time to prep, come to the club anyway. The entire purpose of this English speaking club is for you to talk, so just come for that. Don’t worry about making mistakes, or if someone else is better than you. Just come and just talk. Speaking English is the best way for you to improve your skills, and that’s what our goal is here. Don’t feel pressure to prepare, just show up as you are. Remember you can use the newsletter to help you prep, and it’s ok if you do your preparing after we have our meeting. Do what’s best for you.
Why Should You Join English Speaking Club?
This is an English speaking club, not a class. You will talk. It’s the only thing that’s mandatory. You’ll have an opportunity to have your mistakes corrected by a native speaker, expand your vocabulary with words and phrases that English speakers use. Have an opportunity to learn and use natural native like phrasing, and get into some deep and interesting conversations. You can no longer say that you don’t have a chance to practice speaking English. The best way to improve your English is to talk. So let’s do it.
How Do You Join English Speaking Club?
It’s easy, you can use this form to join the club. All of our meetings take place online. It’s just $20 a month until you cancel. You can cancel at anytime. Have fun and improve your English skills.
