Student Question: How do I get 7.5 in IELTS speaking in mainland of China?

It’s a little difficult to answer your question without having some idea of your English level. The number one thing you can do to get a 7.5 on the IELTS exam is practice. The second thing you can do is improve your English. After you do those things there are a few other things that I’d recommend that you do.

Start with part 1 questions and practice them a lot. I like to do part 1 drills with my students where I’ll ask them different questions for an hour. I do this so that I can better gauge their level, and I also do it so that they get used to answering these types of questions. Let’s face it IELTS questions are weird. Do you like to finish things quickly?
No, I don’t like to finish things quickly for a couple of reasons. First I was in my high school. My teacher gave me homework and I did my homework in my class very quickly. I made mistake and my teacher was angry for me because the homework needed more time. Also my father sent me to pharmacy because he wanted some medication and I went there by my car. Although I drove very fast and I made accident. I like doing things slowly.

There has been a lot made about the recent US election and while many people have questions about why America elected Donald Trump this isn’t the place to discuss that as this is a place to learn more about American culture and not argue about politics. Instead I’m going to talk about how America chose it’s new President.
Majority does not rule in The US. America elects its President through a process called the Electoral College.

What is the electoral college? It was originally established over 200 years ago as a compromise by those who wanted America to elect its President by a vote by Congress or to elect it’s President by a vote by it’s citizens. It may sound strange that America once contemplated allowing Congress to elect its President, but remember at that time modern democracy wasn’t taking place in any country.
